A Season of Change

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV)

As the seasons change from summer to autumn, I find myself thinking of the recent changes in my own life.  Last month, my youngest son was born, bringing with him 9 pounds and 2 ounces worth of change.

It’s amazing how such a cute little bundle rearranged my life in an instant.  All of a sudden, sleep is a rare gift and changing diapers has become my expertise again.  Still, being a mother of two boys is wonderful.  I don’t regret my decision to be a stay at home mom one bit.  However, it can be overwhelming at times.

A few weeks ago, after a sleepless night, I stared at the dirty dishes in the sink and a pile of laundry waiting to be folded, while my older son tugged on my arm, asking for a snack.  I wondered, Will I ever have the time to write again?

Then God reminded me of a verse from Ecclesiastes 3:1, which says there is a season and time for everything.  Right now, although things are crazy and I feel like a zombie at times, God has led me to the season I am in.  This time spent my new baby and three year old son is a gift I will treasure for years to come.

As for my writing, I’ve learned to adapt.  Instead of having large blocks of time to write, I work in smaller intervals, whenever I can fit it in.

Things may be changing, but I’m learning to love the season of life I am in.  Every day is precious.

(Meet my new family of four.)

Thank you for reading and keep shining for Him.  J

  2. Thank you, Mom. You did a great job being a mom to all four of us. I hope I can be as good of a mom to my kids as you are to us. :)
