Anchor Cove Q & A

Why did you decide to republish your island books?

These books were originally part of a bigger island series through a traditional publisher. When the contract ran out, the books were released back to me. Now I am revising and republishing them independently.

What kind of revisions have you made to the books and why?

Since these books were written during a very difficult time in my life, I decided to change the titles of the books to better reflect how God brought me through. I have also added some revisions to give the books a new start. The revisions include changes to character names, a new island chain name, and new bonus scenes to create richer storylines. I am excited to share these newly revised books with my readers.

What struggles were you going through while writing the series?

I went through several health and personal struggles while writing the series. Problems with my health led to multiple surgeries in the span of a couple years, one of my sons was diagnosed with a rare medical disorder, and other personal problems affected my writing ministry. During this time, I had a contract to write a book every six months. While excited for a new adventure in being published traditionally, it proved very difficult to work on the project while dealing with so many other difficulties. I continued writing the series, but the joy of creating stories left my heart. I wondered if I would ever enjoy writing again or publish another book, even independently. However, by the grace of God, He brought me and my family through the difficult season of our lives. My health is much better now, and my son is doing better as well. While there are still difficulties, we are walking by faith and taking one step at a time.

What does the new series name mean to you?

Anchor Cove has special significance for me. It is inspired by Hebrews 6:18-19.

“So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”

When the books were released back to me, at first, I questioned if I should republish them since they brought back so many painful memories. I put them aside for a while to pray about it. Then one day, I felt God leading me to re-read the first book. It didn’t take long for me to bond with the characters again and I began to realize something. Even when I felt defeated and discouraged, God remained faithful. He’d helped me write stories about faith, forgiveness and enduring through hardship, in the midst of my own trials. He was and still is my anchor in the storm. It is my hope that these stories will help encourage readers who are going through storms of their own.

Where and when will the books in the Anchor Cove Series be available?

I’m excited to announce, the kindle version of the first book in the series, Her Magnolia Hero has been released today! It is available on Amazon. Also, books 2 & 3 are available for Preorder. There are a total of five books in the series, to be released one at a time every two months.

More About Her Magnolia Hero

Can two searching hearts find an anchor to weather the storm?

Kamryn Mullins moves to Anchor Cove on Magnolia Island to start her new mobile veterinary business. She hopes for a peaceful new beginning away from busy city life. However, dealing with a rebellious sister for a vet assistant, an overbearing mother criticizing her life choices, and a rundown beach house brings Kamryn to the breaking point. Did she make a horrible mistake coming to Magnolia?

Sergent Tyson Baylor is no stranger to the storms of life. After returning home from a tour in Iraq, islanders call the marine a hero. Yet, clinging to his faith while suffering through PTSD and other struggles stateside, Ty questions if the title, "hero" fits. To keep busy, he focuses on helping his sister, a war widow with three young children.

When a new neighbor moves to Anchor Cove, Ty offers to help fix up her beach house and mobile clinic. At least it serves as a welcome distraction from his own problems. He never expected for Kamryn Mullins to help break down his walls. Could God have sent her as more than just a beautiful distraction?

In this wholesome Christian romance, experience an inspiring journey of hope, healing and new beginnings, as Kamryn and Tyson learn to trust in Jesus as their anchor.

The Anchor Cove Series: Family friendly beach reads with a message of faith and a dash of sweet, clean romance.

Thank you to all the readers for your support. It is such an encouragement and blessing to me. I hope you will enjoy this newly revised series!
